Gates Antiques: Featured Items

A solid mahogany and mahogany veneered bow front chest of drawers with extensive string inlay and inlaid kite escutcheon. The size is very desirable at 41" wide, 34 3/4" tall, and 22" deep. White Pine secondary. American, probably from New England. Circa 1800.

The wood in the top is beautiful. Notice the light band of string inlay.



The inlay is quite extensive. There is inlay on the top and two strings of inlay on the edge of the top. The drawers have string inlay on the fronts with fans in the corners.



The ogee feet are original.
